About This Role
As a Drafting Technologist, you will be part of a team working on aerial and underground distribution projects (both new construction and maintenance) in the City of Edmonton.
Job Description
You will be expected to apply your technical skill and experience in drafting overhead and underground line distribution systems. You will be responsible for the development of project specific details and the preparation and coordination of clear, concise drawings. The qualified candidate will work with a team of engineers and technologists to ensure client satisfaction and successful project completion.
As the successful applicant, you have good interpersonal skills and are able to liaise with our client's internal and external stakeholders.
Education and Qualifications
You have completed a two (2) year diploma in Electrical Design and Drafting Technology or Engineering Design Technology from a recognized technical institute, and are eligible for registration as a technologist with A.S.E.T.
- 1-3 years of AutoCAD or Microstation drafting experience preferred. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Experience drafting power distribution will be an asset.
- Experience drafting 3D using Microstation will be an asset.
- Computer experience in spreadsheet, word processing is required.
- You possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary dependent on level of skills and experience

Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
