Job Details
SAB GCA RMX requires an individual to engage in projects for safety improvement, plant modification, plant repairs and/or service, sustainability troubleshooting and diagnosis. The individual will be responsible for most importantly safety of themselves, the safety of individuals around him or her while working, adhering to all policies/procedures and executing the position with efficiency and professionally while conveying leadership.
Responsibilities:
Safety and work place environment:
- Safely executing the role using the required training, experience, knowledge, resources and leadership traits.
- Working with site docs and management to safely execute improvement projects, repairs, maintenance/service and troubleshooting.
- Maintain equipment provided with the position.
- This position will also require the individual to be involved in daily plant operations when required.
Plant improvement projects, repairs, maintenance/service and troubleshooting:
- Report to management, work with management and plant staff to complete projects, repairs maintenance/service and troubleshoot plant function and/or operational problems
- Direct plant staff on hand and utilize man hours on projects.
- Complete projects in a timely manner with an open schedule.
- Schedule themselves with the help and requirements of plant management.
Relationships with Others:
- Report to management, work with management and plant lead hands to complete projects, repairs maintenance/service and troubleshoot plant function and/or operational problems.
- Work with and/or lead subcontractors, ensure subcontractors are working safely and efficiently alongside management.
- Work closely to with plant staff as a team.
Dimensions:
- Will report to GCA plant management, operations support manager.
- 15 plant staff/co-workers, subcontractors/plumbing/electrical/fabricators.
- 250,000 + m3 of ready-mix production per year from 5 plants.
- Wages Negotiable upon interview.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent. (required or preferred)
- WCB welder certification, minimum blue book Journeyman welding hours or 2nd year apprenticeship, journeyman certification an asset. (required or preferred).
- Active Class 5 driver’s license a minimum.
Experience & Skill Set:
- Shop setting experience and fabrication experience an asset.
- Individual must be safety orientated, motivated, efficient and able to work alone.
- Current active safety tickets are an asset but not required.
- Must be flexible on availability and wiliness to do all tasks required.
- Flexibility on availability is required. Hours are not limited to common hours, the individual will be required to fill any daily vacancies in terms of plant operations.
