Job Details

PGS Equipment Ltd. is currently looking to hire a Service Technician for our facility in Taber, AB as well as farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops. Key Responsibilities:

• Assembly of equipment in shop and field
• Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and routine maintenance of various farm machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required.
• Maintains current knowledge of company competitive products
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Performs diagnosis and repair in the field as required
• Perform work in a safe manner by themselves and with others
• Assist with other duties as required

Requirements:

• Must be dependable and self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiating and conflict resolution.
• Parts and machinery knowledge, preferably row crop equipment
• Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
• Always maintain proper and safe working conditions
• Effectively work in a fast-paced environment, able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
• Strong computer and technology skills is a must
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract as well as forklift certificate
