Position Title: Project Manager & Business Analyst, FSS Transformation
Team and Location: Shared Services - Calgary, AB
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Principal, Shared Services Transformation, this position plays a key role ensuring a successful transition to a Shared Services operating model for finance and other corporate functions across the geographies where Parkland operates. This role is also key in supporting the design and development of current and future state business processes that ensure business efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Manage the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and close-out of transformation projects and initiatives ensuring close adherence to scope, budget and timelines to meet defined goals and outcomes
- Monitor and coordinate dependencies across other initiatives within Parkland and resolve conflicts when required
- Proactively communicate and report project/initiative status, progress, risks, issues and successes on a regular basis, using project management tools
- Identify improvement/streamlining opportunities and/or challenges arising from project activities, and coordinate appropriate adjustments or corrective actions
Business Process Management and Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate workshops with multi-disciplinary teams to create current state process maps, flowcharts, and other visual representations to document all processes following industry BPMS standards and best practices
- Analyze and interpret desk manuals and process maps to identify process challenges, gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the use of continuous improvement, lean and six sigma tools
Communications and Change Management
- Work collaboratively with organizational change management (OCM) team to ensure the design and execution of effective communication and change management strategies along with supporting communication methods
- Work with OCM team to ensure a comprehensive stakeholder analysis is completed and their needs addressed
- Work with OCM and cross functional teams to aid in the success and adoption of transformation initiatives
Service Management
- Demonstrate service excellence approach in all interactions with team members and clients
- Build strong partnerships with different business groups and ensure internal clients consider the Project Manager, Transformation role as a key service provider to the organization
- Ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements; Service Definitions, Performance Measurements, Internal Performance Ratings, and Customer Service Reviews
- Sustain satisfactory interactions with all project stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills:
- University degree in engineering, business, commerce, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of proven project management experience
- Process mapping experience (Visio) required
- Project Management Professional certification/designation required
- Lean Six Sigma certification required, Black Belt strongly preferred
- Robust verbal, written and visual presentations (PowerPoint) communication skills, including facilitation of meetings, training sessions and workshops
- Be able to demonstrate strong resilience and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment delivering various projects in a highly professional manner while following strict timelines
- Business analyst and/or IIBA certification is preferred
- Change Management Certification (Prosci or similar) is an asset
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in managing business transformation projects
- Experience in working in a work environment driven by strong Service Level Agreements
- Extensive experience using MS Office tools
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills - able to engage with many stakeholders in an organized manner with a customer-service focus
