Overview:
Lafarge ready-mix Calgary has immediate openings for motivated individuals to join the day to day operations of the Calgary Lafarge RMX plant operations as loader operators.
Responsibilities:
- Take part in daily plant safety instructions, receive and interpret instruction on completing daily tasks safely, efficiently and effectively with the use of the recourses provided.
- Load the ready-mix plant with aggregate for production, monitor inventory, control stock piles, contracted haulers, load trucks, maintain the yard and assist in plant production.
- Housekeeping in all areas of the plant or yard, must be capable of shoveling, wheelbarrowing, pressure washing, sweeping and cleaning debris.
- Take part in day to day ready-mix production, addition of value added products and concrete fibers. Must be capable of repetitive medium duty lifting or moving of products up to 55lbs.
- Assist ready-mix drivers with returned concrete, form, prep and place returned concrete.
- Set concrete block forms place and finish concrete blocks, block inventory.
- Assisting in inventory level checks.
- Will be involved in preventative maintenance, minor repairs and daily service.
- Daily service and housekeeping of equipment.
- Work safely and report any and all unsafe actions.
- Take part in safety development and interaction.
- Operate small equipment including skid steer and zoom boom.
- Must be reliable and available.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to multiple locations within the greater Calgary area if needed.
Relationships with Others:
- Good communication skills are required. Must be able to work with others.
- Follow any and all safe work practices, procedures, safety rules and policy.
- Will report to plant manager or lead hand operator. Work safely and report any and all unsafe actions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 minimum driver’s License is required
Experience & Skill Set:
- Safety Certifications and/or training considered an asset. Training is available upon hire.
- 3-5 years minimum running wheel loader or equivalent
- Other equipment experience will be considered an asset.
- Wages are subject to negotiation based on experience and will be discussed upon hire. Benefits, increases and pension are available when a probation period is complete based on performance.
